The device of the considered element of the ignition system looks like this:

  • the metal core is connected to the main contact, which is connected to the central electrode of the spark plug by means of a high-voltage wire;
  • a secondary winding is made around the core, consisting of a large number of coils of thin insulated copper conductor;
  • there is a dielectric layer on top of the secondary winding and a small number of coils of thick copper wire, the primary winding;
  • the core with the windings is placed inside a sealed plastic housing filled with transformer oil;
  • the windings are connected in a serial circuit, the 2 connected ends are on one external terminal and the other two are on separate contacts.

    To generate a spark, the electric current must penetrate the air gap that exists between the two electrodes of the plug. Since air is a poor conductor of electricity, a very high voltage is required to overcome the resistance of this gap as well as the resistance of the system itself and all its components.

    If the system is absolutely functional, the resistance is predictable. However, old wiring, traces of corrosion on the contacts, a dirty spark plug, as well as an overwatered or overcharged  air mixture will increase the total resistance, which opposes the formation of a spark.

    The ignition coil converts the low voltage from the battery or winding into high voltage (or high voltage supply). The result is a high-voltage circuit with a sufficiently low current, but still ideal for ignition. This effect is achieved in the coil by a process called electromagnetic induction: a weak electromagnetic field is created around this conductor when an electric current flows in the conductor.

    If the second conductor enters the electromagnetic field of the first conductor, a weak current is generated in the conductor. If the current in the first conductor stops, the same happens as the field in the second conductor increases and disappears. In other words, the same result can be obtained by moving the second conductor in the field or moving the field through the conductor. When considering one conductor, this effect is very weak, but it can be significantly increased by winding two separate coils from the wire, one over the other.

    The primary (low voltage) and secondary (high voltage) coils are placed one on top of the other on an iron core that is used to amplify the field effect or “magnetic induction”. The primary winding consists of several hundred windings of thick copper wire and the secondary winding, to which the thick high-voltage wire is connected, consists of several thousand windings of thin copper wire.

    When voltage is applied to the primary winding, a magnetic field is created. When the low-voltage supply to the primary winding is disconnected, the field disappears and, as it passes through the secondary windings, a high voltage pulse is induced to generate a spark.

    The Jeep ignition coil is an ignition system element designed to convert a low voltage current from a battery or generator into a high voltage current. The main function of the Jeep ignition element is to generate a high voltage electrical pulse on the spark plug. A usual kit for cj5 includes coil springs, brake disc and pad kit, ignition coil as well as weatherstrip kit and carpet kit. It also consists of clutch kit and timing belt kit.

    Spring is an important element of the car suspension, serves to ensure the necessary height of the car body and takes part in damping vertical vibrations, softening shocks from driving on an uneven surface.

    Suspension springs absorb only vertical vibrations and because they do not contain friction, shock absorbers with or near the spring are used to absorb such vibrations. Because of the location of the shock absorber, it is called “spring of shock absorber”.

    The main characteristic of it is its stiffness, the greater its stiffness, the greater its oscillation frequency. Those with high stiffness are usually installed on sports cars and commercial vehicles (freight transport). To indicate the degree of stiffness, it is used to mark different colours that indicate a certain degree of stiffness. The degree of compression of the spring depends on the thickness of the coil of the spring.

    Its operation is simple: when hitting a bump, the spring softens the impact force and makes driving comfortable. The most frequent breakdowns – breakdowns and cracks in the springs – can lead to: bad road conditions; overloading the car; unbalanced wheels.

    Poor condition can cause damage to the whole body and seriously impair the driving characteristics of the car. It is extremely important to change this unit in time, especially the front suspension ones. Smooth running and ground clearance of the vehicle depends on the rigidity of the installed springs. Suspensions provide excellent handling, but they also significantly reduce ride comfort. With soft springs, any unevenness is not terrible, but you can tilt and lose control during sharp turns.

    Coil kits are on the expensive side and it is quite a hard job to install them.  If all you are going to run 32’s, then the OME kit will be just fine. It is a 2.5″ kit. It will ensure a soft ride and nice handling.

    First of all, it should be noted that the spring is a part of the vehicle that provides comfortable movement by softening the main body load on the chassis of the vehicle. This conversion is hard to do since you need to pull the cab and lift the motor and transmission in order to install new springs on the frame. It is better and faster to change the whole frame.
